Brenda Lee Eager is a Legendary Soul Singer/Songwriter.  She has worked with great artists such as Diana Ross, Roberta Flack,
Smokey Robinson, Teena Marie, Donny Hathaway, Graham Nash,
Ray Charles, Mavis Staples, Stevie Wonder, among others. As a songwriter, Brenda Lee Eager has written songs for Bobby Womack, Pop Staples & The Staple Singers, Aretha Franklin, 
Cliff Richard, The Manhattans, Gladys Knight, Peaches & Herb and a Platinum Single for the artist known as Prince. 

Karla Gordy Bristol is CEO of Bristol Entertainment and an entertainment personality. She's a host on "Beverly Hills View" television talk show, and host and producer of "Karla Dawn LIVE", the weekly Facebook Live/YouTube talk show. Utilizing her many talents, Karla interviews celebrities and acclaimed individuals, produces concerts and events and is an emcee and host for organizations.  Karla Gordy Bristol is also a Reporter. She has covered numerous events,  such as, the Billboard Awards, Academy Awards Post Event, Trumpet Awards, the Diversity Awards, Emmy Awards Gifting Suite, the Heroes and Legends Awards, the Motown Museum Gala, TV One "UnSung": Sly & The Family Stone premiere,  just to name a few.  Karla Gordy Bristol is the daughter of Iris Gordy, former Motown Records Vice President & Executive Producer and the late Johnny Bristol, legendary songwriter, producer and singer. Tyrone DuBose, R & B Historian and Syndicated Radio Host of Timeless Traxx,  the fastest growing Old School countdown program in America, is part of the ensemble and contributor of the Award Winning Program "UNSUNG", on the TV One Television Network.  “UNSUNG” is the acclaimed series of one-hour biographies that celebrates the lives and careers of successful artists or groups who, despite great talent, over the years have been under-recognized or under-appreciated. Tyrone is the recipient of many prestigious awards and accolades for his work in the entertainment industry.

Ultimate Soul Crooner and Oakland native, Lenny Williams, posseses one of the most distinctive voices in contemporary music. With his rich, passionate vocal style, he is rightfully regarded as one of the R&B's most influential Soul Men. He began his musical career aming records that have become R&B and Pop classic. He has recorded several hit song including "Choosing You",  "Cause I Love You" (recorded on his solo album) and "So Very Hard to Go" and "What Is Hip" , which he recorded as the lead singer of Tower of Power. He has worked with many notable artists such as: Sly Stone, Andrae Crouch, Billy Preston and members of the Hawkins family, Edwin, Walter and Tramaine. Lenny Williams' style has transcended into the new millennium, influencing many of today's most popular R&B and Hip Hop Artists. His 198 hit song "Cause I Love You" has been sampled by Kanye West, Havoc of Mobb Deep, Twista, Jin, Trey Songz & Young Jeezy, Andre 3000, Black Thought of The Roots and Talib Kweli, just to name a few.

Many of the Legendary Soul Train Dancers who helped to make the Hit TV Show a huge success are loyal supporters of Nu Skool Sings Old School. Our Founder, Brandy Sanders, is also a former Soul Train Dancers and has helped to keep the legacy of the Soul Train Dancers alive. Soul Train was a musical variety television program which aired in syndication from 1971 until 2006. In its 35-year history, the show primarily featured performances by R&B, Soul and Hip Hop Artists, although funk, jazz, disco and gospel artists also appeared. But the Soul Train Dancers were the reason that people tuned in to watch the show every Saturday. The series was created by the late Don Cornelius, who also served as the first host and executive producer of the show. Soul Train originated in Chicago, IL.

Dubbed "The First Lady of Motown" by founder Berry Gordy, Claudette Robinson is a singer/songwriter and was one of the members of The Miracles. Claudette, along with the original members of The Miracles were inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame and were honored with a Star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Claudette Robinson is a board member of the national Rhythm & Blues Foundation and the HAL Awards.
Smokey Robinson wrote "My Girl" for his wife Claudette Robinson.

Janie Bradford is a Legendary Songwriter, most known for her tenure with Motown Records. With Berry Gordy, she co-wrote "Money (That's What I Want)", originally recorded by Barrett Strong and used by The Beatles. Other hits by Janie Bradford include "Too Busy Thinking About My Baby" by Marvin Gaye and "Your Old Standby" by Mary Wells. She worked at Motown for more than 25 years. Currently, Janie Bradford is the Executive Director of the Janie Bradford HAL Scholarship Fund and producer of the Heroes and Legends (HAL) Awards, and annual event that raises funds for performing arts scholarships while paying tribute to entertainment legends,, including many of Motown's biggest stars. 
Janie Bradford also established Twinn Records with songwriter and singer Marilyn McLeod.

Phillip "Aphillyated" Guillory is a Grammy Award Winning
Producer, Composer, Writer and Concert Promoter. He has been a Studio Producer for over 20 years. In 2004 Philliped signed a contract with Viacom Television Networks (MTV, VH1, BET) and produced music for hit television shows such as "P. Diddy's Making the Band", "Pimp My Ride" and "Date Mom". Phillip's music can also be heard on "Basketball Wives", "Black Ink", "Catfish", "Real World".. Phillip's music is consistently featured on over 30 TV programs worldwide. Phillip is a part of the production team of "The Bridge" where he produced the Grammy Award Winning Project "Gravity".
Phillip has worked with artists such as: Kendrick Lamar, Lecrae,
CeCe Peniston, Andy Mineo, Frak J and Teyana Taylor. Most recently, Phillip signed a Publishing Deal with one of Korea's Most Prominent Companies. As the composer of "The Super Junior Project" which went #1 in 26 countries and has been translated in over 35 languages.

The youngest person ever to be inducted into the Broadcaster's Hall of Fame.Ms. Sutton was the first Hollywood based host hired by BET.  She is well known for her famous interviews with some of the greatest entertainers, such as, Michael Jackson,  Whitney Houston, Miles Davis, Frank Sinata, Anthony Quinn, Mickey Rooney, Madonna, Kenny Rogers, Chaka Khan,  Diana Ross, Rick James, Quincy Jones,  Jennifer Lopez,  Jim Carey, Eddie Murphy and Mick Jagger,  just to name a few.  April Sutton has covered high profile events, such as, the Oscar Awards, Grammy Awards, American Music Awards and many Hollywood Movie Premieres. 

Clint Thomas has appeared in Director F. Gary Gray’s hit movie Straight Outta Compton, the hit TV Series 24 on the Fox Network, Without A Trace on CBS, Invasion on ABC, Jennifer Love Hewitt’s Ghost Whisperer on CBS, Operation Repo on truTV and Apartment X, a Short Film directed by Stevie Mack.  He has worked as a Featured Model for some of the hottest Fashion Designers, including Weaven Steven, Camille Woods and many other fashion designers during LA Fashion Week. He has also a modeled for DFM Clothing & Apparel, Harley Davidson, Platinum Style Autobody and Celebrity H20 in Hawaii.  Clint Thomas can also be seen in publications such as: PAPER Magazine, Hollywood Weekly Magazine, One West Magazine and Foe Life Magazine in Japan. Clint Thomas is the son of Hall of Fame Boxer and Actor Lonnie “Magic Man” Bennett.  

Mad Love to Multi-Keyboardist and Pianist, Musical Director, Composer and Producer, Ming Freeman, who has served as our Musical Director on some of our shows. Ming has toured or recorded with artists such as Joni Mitchell, Yanni, Ronnie Laws, Chuck Negron, Jeffrey Osborne, Paula Abdul, Sheena Easton, Gladys Knight, Jean Carne and Michael Henderson. He is a featured keyboard soloist in many of Yanni's concerts and DVDs such as Tribute filmed in India and China, Yanni Live at Royal Hall in London, Yanni Live! In Concert and Yanni Voices. Ming Freeman has been noted to handle the more advance keyboard work during Yanni's concerts.  You may hear Ming Freeman's hit song "Angularity" playing at many of our shows and in some of our promotions.

Carol Goldwasser is an Independent Casting Director who has worked over twenty years in Los Angeles and New York. She has cast actors who have received Kid's and Teen Choice Awards, Imagen Awards, Young Artist Awards and Emmy Awards nominations for their roles. Her series work includes "Austin & Ally" (Kids Choice Awards Favorite TV Show), "Dog with a Blog", "I'm in the Band", Hannah Montana" (Teen Choice Awards TV Comedy), "The Hughleys", "Freaky Friday" and many others.  Ms. Goldwasser has been nominated for eleven Casting Society of America Artios Awards for excellence in casting, winning twice and was a Heller Award nominee for Television Casting Director of the Year.

Wendy Alane Wright is a Hollywood Talent Manager and President of WAW Entertainment. Her clients have appeared on television networks such as ABC, NBC, TNT, CBS, Comedy Central, BIO, Lifetime and more. They have book TV shows including "Modern Family", "Blackish", "Extant". "The Colony", "Animal Kingdom" "My Haunted House", and "Henry Danger". as well of hundreds of commercial for major spots including Shutterfly, Mercedes, Visa, Taco Bell, Honda, Legos, Hot Wheels and many more. 

Born and raised in Japan, Noriko Olling-Wright started playing the piano at age 5, studying everything from classical to jazz to R&B. In 1988, she moved to Los Angeles, where she has played, arranged, composed, produced and musical directed for the likes of: Chaka Khan, Pink, Teena Marie & Rick James, Gladys Knight, Michael Bolton, Richard Street and the late Ollie "Ali" Woodson (of The Temptations) and many more. Noriko's unique background has given her the perfect combination of classical sensibilities and soulful taste.

Ernest Thomas began his professional acting career as a Broadway actor, appearing in the 1974 revival production "Love for Love" and in the 1975 revival of "The Member of the Wedding". Ernest moved to Los Angeles to pursue a career as a TV/Film actor. In the fall of 1975 he received a role on an episode of "The Jeffersons".  Ernest rose to fame as Roger "Raj" Thomas in the hit TV Sitcom "What's Happening!". Ernest has starred in many TV Shows and movies throughout his career including the role of "Mr. Omar" on the hit TV Sitcom "Everybody Loves Chris".

Jon B is a consummate artist, an accomplished musician and noted songwriter and producer with several gold and platinum records under his belt. His is a rich textured body of music a testament to one man's love for all thing soul. His beginning was seasoned by early influences including Duran Duran, Inxs, Marvin Gaye, Michael Jackson, Babyface, Prince and Sade. Jon B has written and produced music for such artists as Luther Vandross, Toni Braxton, Color Me Badd, as well as remixing Michael Jackson's "You Are Not Alone".  He captivates the R&B Sound while collaborating with hip hop legends. In 2017, Jon B was the subject on an episode of TV One's UNSUNG. 

Armed with an acid dry wit and full arsenal of sarcasm and sass, Legendary Comedienne Marlene Gibbs showed up on 70s TV with a bang!!! Landing the role of the feisty made on the popular ground-breaking CBS comedy shows, "The Jefferson", which would eventually lead to her own sitcom, "227".  Ms. Gibbs is a highly recognized International Celebrity. She has starred or been featured in countess TV Shows and movies from the blaxploitation days of the 70s until the present. An eight-time NAACP Image Award winner, Ms. Gibbs has received numerous honors over the years, including the Essence Woman of the Year. And most recently she received the Beautiful Soulz Music Award "Living Legends Awards" presented by Nu Skool Sings Old School.

One of the Original Members of the Legendary Clara Ward Singers, Madeline Thompson continues the legacy of one of the World Most Famous Gospel Artist, Clara Ward. 

If you've been at a Lakers game recently and heard the name 
Cal Bennett, it's because since 2003 he has been a regular performing the National Anthem on his sweet alto sax before 18,000 adoring Lakers Fans.  Cal Bennett has been in the entertainment industry since 1971 when he was barely 20 years old. Bennett was the featured saxophone soloist on Isaac Hayes' Academy-winning "Shaft" LP.  Since then, he has performed and/or recorded with Stevie Wonder, Toni Braxton, Angie Stone, Bobby Lyle, Carl Anderson, The Agape International Choir, Ben Vereen, Ice Cube, New Birth, Rob Mullins, Siedah Garrett, Niki Harris, Tito Jackson, Jay King from Club Nouveau, Greg Wright, Jack Ashford, the Funk Bros. and George Clinton, just to name a few. 

Evelyn Champagne King is a Grammy Award Winning and Dance Hall of Fame Recording Artist.  Signed to a major record deal when she was just 16 years old, Singer Evelyn "Champagne" King first came to fame with the million-selling '70s disco smashes "Shame" and "I Don't Know If It's Right". Evelyn has a long career of hit records and still performs around the country.

Charles Wright is a Soul and Funk Pioneer. He formed the Watts 103rd Street Band who were the most visible from 1967 to 1973 when the band had 9 singles reach Billboard's pop and/or rhythm and blues charts. They are best know for their biggest hit on Warner Bros Records "Express Yourself". This hit song has been sampled by hip hop artists of today and also is featured in movies, television and commercials. Mr. Wright still entertains crowds of loyal fans to this day. "Luenell" is my Best Sister Friend in the Whole Wide World.
She has been our biggest supporter since the very first show. 
Over the years, Luenell has brought awareness and helped to raise major funds for our show and the former foster girls and children and other young women and children in the community that we serve. We love her and  appreciate her so much.
Best known for her breakthough roles as the "Hooker with the Heart of Gold" in the blockbuster comody "Borat",  Luenell is widely recognized by both mainstream AND urban sectors. From her two-year tour and DVD appearances in "Katt Williams' American Hustle" to her appearances in feature films such as "Think Like A Man", "Taken 2", Adam Sandler's "That's My Boy", where she landing a starring roke, to the 3D animated hit "Hotel Transylvania and to her many appearances on TV on shows such as "Californication", "Always Sunny in Philadelphia",  "The Ricky Smiley Show", "Raising Whitley", "Real Housewives of Atltanta" as well as stand-up appearances all over the country including a special appearance on "Snoop Dogg's Bad Girls of Comedy" on SHOWTIME and "Stand Up In Stilettos" on the TV Guide Network. Ms. Linda Hopkins was a Legendary Blues & Gospel Singer.
She recorded classical, traditional and urban blues, R&B, Soul, Jazz, and Show Tunes. She was one of our loyal supporters since our show begin in 2011. We are surely going to miss her.

July 1, 1952 - February 3, 2018
Ndugu Chancler was one of Nu Skool Sings Old School's Most Loyal Supporters. He was very much interesting in children in the entertainment industry connecting with legendary artists for music education and mentorship.  Ndugu Chancler was a world renowned pop, funk and jazz drummer, percussionist, producer, composer and music educator. His career spanned over 45 years. as a studio musician, Ndugu recorded with Frank Sinatra, Herbie Hancock, The Weather Report, John Lee Hooker, Kenny Rogers and Michael Jackson. Working on "Thriller" and "Bad", Ndugu was the drummer on the hit single "Billie Jean". Ndugu has also played on a number of movie soundtracks including: "An Officer and A Gentleman", "Indecent Proposal" and "The Color Purple", just to name a few. Rest in Paradise Ndugu.
